| jan & kimberley feis | Signed on: sab 10 mag 2008 10:05:19 CEST we came home yesterday after a wonderful weeks holiday. The views were stunning and the staff always happy and helpful. The food was good and everywhere spotlessly clean. The hotel is perfect for slightly older people off peak as it is lovely and quiet. We just wish we were there now!!But hopefully will be next year.Thank you La Vue D@OR!!! | | | | Liliana & Walter, Ap | Signed on: gio 08 mag 2008 13:41:22 CEST We had a wonderful stay at the hotel Vu D'Or for two and half weeks. The hotel is family owned and well run. The staff is wonderful--warm, efficient and accommodating. The hotel is well run, very clean and the view was outstanding. The location is also very convenient. It was quiet yet with the shuttle bus to Sorrento, it was easy to get around the pennisula. We would highly recommend the hotel and we would stay here again. | | | | Chris, John, and Geo | Signed on: mer 03 ott 2007 23:07:26 CEST We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel La Vue D'Or for our father's 80th birthday celebration. While the hotel is up on a steep hillside high above the main part of town, the views of the bay and the peace and quiet you enjoy are well worth it! The convenience of the shuttle bus that takes guests to and from the center of town several times a day cannot be overstated, so you really get the best of both worlds. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room on the top floor had a great view over the green hills of Sorrento and the Bay of Naples. Beautiful dining room, excellent breakfast, large comfortable lobby. A real find! | | | | Penny & Shante Thoma | Signed on: mer 15 ago 2007 20:32:20 CEST Hotel La Vue D'Or is a beautiful family run hotel with fantastic views, and gracious, helpful staff . It was our first visit to Italy, where I celebrated my 40th birthday, being served my champagne by those two delightful waiters was the icing on the cake for me! PREGO! Although we have not been back since, we intend to soon. So to Llaria, family and staff again thankyou for your hospitality | | | | Jane & Norrie | Signed on: mer 18 lug 2007 20:52:51 CEST Just back from a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. Stayed in room 161 and the views were stunning. Spotless clean hotel, great food and great service. All of the staff in this hotel are very helpful and curtious. Not one complaint and will definately be returning next year. | | | | Barrie & Helen Ryan | Signed on: mer 04 lug 2007 10:46:56 CEST This was our first visit to Italy and we were very impressed with the hotel, the only major problem was the fact that there was no fridge in the room to cool drinks, which you need in the hot summers. Staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean and brightly decorated. The courtesy bus down to Sorrento runs approx 8 times a day and only takes 12 minutes. Overall our stay brilliant!!! | | | | Carroll Thomas | Signed on: gio 28 giu 2007 19:18:38 CEST Our second visit to this warm and friendly, family-run hotel. We weren't disappointed. The staff even recognised us from last year although they must see many thousands of people per year. Personally, I am not a huge fan of Sorrento itself but I have no doubt we will return to La Vue D'or again, probably for a short visit to round off our holiday as we did this year from Puglia. We recognised a couple from our first visit and they said that they had been visiting the hotel for 20 years - not a bad testimonial. The view from the hotel terrace is simply stunning and if you are lucky enough to get a sea-view room then you will awaken to a backdrop befitting some romantic Hollywood movie, probably starring Sophia Loren and Gregory Peck!! The staff are outstanding, with particular praise going to the head waiter Bartolo and chief barman Angelo. Down side? Well you are probably a bit far out if you prefer the hustle and bustle of the town, but friends to whom we recommended the hotel earlier this year said that this wasn't a problem for them and they ate out every evening. | | | | Burwell Diane | Signed on: gio 28 giu 2007 19:17:13 CEST Excellent accomodation with fantasitc views. Friendly and attentive staff. Room was spotless. Hotel provided transport to and from sorrento centre, essential as it's not in the vacinity to walk. Would stay here again! | | | | Norget Judy | Signed on: gio 28 giu 2007 19:14:44 CEST A very pleasant and comfortable hotel, which would have been even more enjoyable if the weather had been warmer and we had been able to enjoy the lovely pool area. We took some other reviewer's advice and paid extra to have a room with a view--and we were glad we did. The breakfast and the room it is served in were both exceptionally nice. Other travellers suggested that we were best to eat dinner out as the hotel's food was bland, so we took their advice. I would suggest that you ask the hotel for good in-town restauarants. We didn't and wished we had. The shuttle bus was hugely helpful. For those travelling by car, as we were, the map was inadequate. Be sure to get specific directions as to where to turn right to go up the hill, and how many kilometres it is from that turn off. (Without the latter you might think you had made a mistake as it was a very long way!)Again for those with a car, the hotel has its own very convenient parking lot. Ask for directions if you plan to drive down the Amalfi Coast. | | | | John & Jan Petty | Signed on: mar 12 giu 2007 17:41:28 CEST We had a wonderful short break with you in early June. Thank you for making us so welcome.
